All Aboard The Tasty Train!

This February we are pleased to present a brand new, unique experience we’re calling the Tasty Train.  Travelling on the famous Taieri Gorge Railway Seasider, the first Tasty Train will be running to the Oamaru Wine & Food Festival on Sunday, February 19th.

When I was young I used to ride the train every school holiday.  Sometimes I would head to Invercargill in the South, and sometimes North to Christchurch was my destination.  As the years have gone by trains have become more about moving things rather than people, and in 2004 The Southerner passenger service was discontinued.

When we started working with Wine & Food Festivals throughout the country our original goal was to allow you to enjoy the day without the need for a designated driver.  With the Tasty Train we are proud to give you another, unique, travel option for your wonderful day.

It has been great working with the Taieri Gorge Railway to put together this special tour.  Not only will you get to enjoy the Oamaru Wine & Food Festival but you will also get to enjoy the scenery as the Seasider takes you through the stunning Otago countryside and along the coastline.

As with our previous Wine & Food Festival tours the entry fee to the festival is included, and there are many reasons to attend; whether you a want to sample New Zealand wines from the Waitaki Valley and Central Otago, enjoy local food and cooking demonstrations or just sit back and enjoy the live music; the Oamaru Wine & Food Festival has something everyone can enjoy.

For only $99 per adult the Tasty Train is a perfect way to spend a relaxing, enjoyable Sunday.  Places are limited so book now to secure your spot on the very first Tasty Train.

The tasty train trip to Oamaru was absolutely brilliant. A great day out with no worries about driving after imbibing. Why was this not thought of years ago?
    Well done!
